Senior Content Writer | Digital Marketing Professional | Linkedin
Mary Garra is a writer, editor, and digital marketing professional from the Philippines. Her work spans content writing, copywriting, SEO, social media management, email marketing, and content strategy. She holds a degree in Mass Communication and has built a career around finding the right words to help brands communicate their stories and connect with their audiences.
She joined Cloudstaff as a Senior Content Writer and spent almost four years creating SEO-optimized content for an Icelandic travel company. Her work included articles, travel guides, and product descriptions that brought destinations closer to readers around the world.
Her career eventually moved into leadership when she was promoted to Team Manager, a role in which she led a team of writers and a proofreader. She upheld editorial standards, kept every piece aligned with the company’s brand, and made sure everything that was published was something the team could be proud of.
She later transitioned to Cloudstaff’s internal marketing team, where she now writes B2B marketing copy and web content that help decision-makers understand what virtual staffing can do for their businesses. She also manages Cloudstaff’s corporate social media pages and contributes to the content strategy that shapes how the company’s story is told across channels.
Before Cloudstaff, Mary worked in government communications at the Department of Education (DepEd). She started as a writer and editor for the Office of the Undersecretary for Administration, then moved into media relations in the Public Affairs Service. She has also written social media content for other brands and developed story concepts for films.
Some of her previous roles gave her the chance to interview public servants, celebrities, and people from all walks of life, and every conversation showed her that part of a writer’s job is to sit down, listen, and make space for people’s voices to be heard.
A writer by profession and a poet at heart, Mary is drawn to stories that help us understand people and the world a little better. For her, writing is about discovering what is worth saying and finding a way to make it matter to someone else.
